Rivari Hotel. Santorini, Greece.

The stay at Rivari Hotel?

Rivari Hotel was the perfect quiet stay from the not so far busy little town of Fira. Rivari Hotel is located in the town of Kamari which has more relaxing vibes and less of a crowd. Ideal for a traveling family like us!

Arriving at the hotel we even lost the desire to even leave the property. Rivari hotel had everything our family needed to unwind. Our family sunbathed by the grand pool most of our stay. The pool was perfect for young kids and us older folks. Having a shallow side for the kids and a deeper end for the adults to take a full plunge satisfied us both. The hotel provides a variety of floating devices and toys for all ages. If the pool didn't tire our daughter out, she would run around in the mini playground they have on site for younger kids.

Whenever we were hungry we could just simply order food from the bar to eat. When we wanted to switch it up we just took a 7-10 minute walk to Kamari boardwalk with a wide array of bars, restaurant, and a 24-hour supermarket.

Checking into our hotel the staff didn't seem very attentive. The staff didn't really affect our stay, but it does make a big difference when the staff ensures you that you have everything you need and there are no issues upon checking in & during your stay. Staff that doesn't do that bare minimum and goes out their way can brighten up a guest stay!

The only inconvenient thing about our stay was that there is only wifi in public areas. Meaning there is no wifi in your room, and only in the lobby, pool area, and playground area. In a way in forced our family to get off our phones and looked at each other, but I do also enjoy having to do work on my laptop in my own comfort place alone.

Our family stayed in the superior double room along with a request of a toddler crib for our daughter. Our room was very comfortable and spacious for a family of 3. Our room was clean and came with a blow dryer, refrigerator, and free toiletries. The traditional Greek blue and white colors of our room gave us cool ocean vibes. We loved it! We also had a balcony outside our door, which was nice to sit outside and watch our daughter run around outside from afar.

We recommend Rivari Hotel if you want a family-friendly environment on a budget stay. The location is quite and secluded, but close enough to get around the different parts of the island of Santorini.

Location?

Rivera was the perfect location for our stay in Santorini for our family. Rivera isn’t located on the beach but has about a 10-minute walk to the boardwalk for many dining and shopping options. The hotel is within 1 mile (2km). You can choose to take a 3-5min taxi to the boardwalk but it will cost you about 10 Euros.

The town of Kamari seemed to be more focused on families so we were glad our hotel was located in Kamari and not Fira. Fira's cobblestone streets were not stroller friendly to walk through the town. There were many steps and we had to have our daughter walk while carrying a stroller. It really wasn't the most relaxing stroll through the town for us. If your kids are older and can walk for a long distance then this may not be an issue for you.

For these reasonings, Rivera hotel had us situated in the best location! We literally didn't even want to leave the area since it was so comfortable for our family. Rivera hotel provided everything for our family to rarely leave the hotel and if we did it was only a short distance away.

How to get to and from your hotel?

Taxis are available but expensive. However, you might consider using one to get to your hotel from Santorini International Airport.

You shouldn't pay more than 20-30€. If you're worried about getting overcharged set up an airport transfer with the hotel. You can email the hotel in advance for a direct transfer for 20euros!
