The stay at Hotel St. Helene?
Hotel St. Helene was beautifully renovated and reopened in January 2012. The hotel was originally built in the early 1800s but is now decked out in all white walls and ebony stained hardwood floors. The rooms and corridors were modern but a sexy feel to it.
Our room was located on the first floor which was a queen bed suite with balcony & courtyard area access. If your looking for more privacy, the queen bed suite is the room to book. Be sure to book ahead of time this is the only room in the hotel that gives you access to the courtyard from your room.
Overall we had a marvelous stay here. Our flight was delayed and we were stuck in the airport for 12 hours and they wasted no time to make us comfortable in our room. We only had a weekend in NOLA and Hotel St Helene gave us easy access to everywhere we wanted to go. We never once had to get in a taxi until we left for the airport. There is no on-site restaurants located in the hotel but there are many tasteful restaurants that are in walking distance. We're already planning to come back to NOLA for Mardi Gras next year and know exactly where we will be staying again! Hotel St Helene couldn't have been more accommodating and welcoming.
